Sneakers TRIPLE S.2

The Balenciaga Triple S, introduced in 2017, has become both a cultural phenomenon and an icon of the House, exemplifying its radical, innovative, and uncompromising spirit. In 2026, the outsized sneaker is reinvented under the direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli.

As with the original design, a stacked, splayed outsole is a composite of three distinct tread directions—showing various levels of traction and wear, as if peeled from existing shoes and sculpturally consolidated. The bulky yet refined profile combines 68 individual pieces per pair, resulting in an elongated, streamlined silhouette that nods to the aerodynamism of developing sport technology.

More mesh surfaces lend to lightness and breathable, comfortable wear without sacrificing presence. Printed radient stripes outline the sneaker’s arcing panels.

An allover distressing of the materials signifies rawness and movement, situating the design at the extreme end of an existing athletic language that infuses the modern quotidian with multivalence.

Coded details of the permanent line are reimagined: a 3B Sport emblem appears at the toe’s top edge alongside a Balenciaga. Divergent graphics are debossed on the sides, and on the back of each heel, near the printed shoe size—a brand signature established with the first ever Triple S. Bicolor laces as well borrow from the first iteration, crossing over a tongue that is branded with a new Triple S.2 emblem.

To celebrate the shoe’s launch, select Balenciaga stores are showcasing the evolution of the line—an original Triple S sole, an archival sneaker, the new Triple S.2 sole, and the final product—while offering a custom dustbag embroidery service.
