About Balenciaga Music

As music is an inherent part of Balenciaga’s culture and creative force, the Balenciaga Music platform was conceived to offer a 360 experience that includes hand-selected playlists, limited-edition merchandise, exclusive content, and interactive campaigns. It introduces mixes made by a variety of artists working all over the world through a large variety of genres, individually selected by Demna. These artists are invited to share their musical influences, collaborate on products, and/or produce original compositions—especially for Balenciaga. The platform also catalogues sounds created for runway shows and other activations. The development of new technology, such as wearable NFC chips, allows for special listening experiences within this ever-evolving project.

In July of 2024, an original playlist curated by Rick Rubin will be available to stream via Balenciaga Music, celebrating The Festival of the Sun, an event aligned with the Summer solstice in Casole d’Elsa, Tuscany. Artists and thinkers converge under the continuous daylight in celebration of the limitless potential of human expression amid nature’s profundity.
The playlist invokes the sentiments of endings and beginnings. It is available on a dedicated balenciaga.com page linking to multiple streaming platforms, offering access to the playlist from almost anywhere.

Balenciaga Music selects artists to create original playlists based on their own tastes, giving audiences a window into their processes and backgrounds. They are chosen by Demna, who started off the series with his own mix, followed by collaborations with RuPaul, Aya Nakamura, Acid Arab, Pink Martini, Jay-Jay Johanson, Archive, Angelo Badalamenti, and BFRND.
