Balenciaga Fragrance Collection

On September 10, 2025, Balenciaga unveils a campaign for its collection of fragrances, featuring images and videos captured by British artist Katerina Jebb.
Jebb is known for employing a high-resolution scanning machine to document objects, producing visuals imbued with a sense of intimacy and industrial precision.
The campaign visualizes Balenciaga’s olfactive identity through a narrative of dualities: precision and poetry; natural ingredients and scientific innovation; cutting-edge technology and the House’s storied heritage.
Scanned images of the collection’s flacons—set against Balenciaga’s signature industrial grey—correspond to the 10 fragrances comprising the collection: No Comment, Getaria, Twenty Four Seven, To Be Confirmed, Muscara, Le Dix, 100%, Extra, Cristóbal, and Incense Perfumum, accompanied by visuals of the fragrances’ packaging and key ingredients.
Jebb’s scanning process mirrors the fragrance collection’s visual identity, rooted in the faithful recreation of the original Le Dix flacon—the House’s first fragrance, introduced by Cristóbal Balenciaga in 1947—and the patinated packaging of this historic artifact, rediscovered by the House’s archivists following a fifteen-year search.
The visuals also feature archival documents including sketches of the original packaging, bottle design, and advertising for Le Dix, underscoring the deep reverence for M. Balenciaga’s legacy that informs the House’s identity.
Videos document the scanning process of each individual perfume, illuminated by the cold luminosity of the machine, highlighting the contrast between artisanal perfumery and precise, technologically advanced manufacturing methods.
